If someone posts here claiming to be a "non profit", at least check them
out at Guidestar

Connecting people with nonprofit information since 1994, GuideStar
offers its users an array of nonprofit data

Hi there
My name is hans and in live in south australia.
I hope to correspont with you to share my experiences with cancer and to
discover wether someone else has had similar experience to mine.
I had my primary cancer in '94 (hepato cellular adeno carcinoma). this was
followed by bone metastasises in '98 on my T1 &T2 vertabraes. Next came 2
more in my cranium. in '99  2 more in my femur and my pelvis. currently i
suffer lympho edema and a continiously discharching wound where my hip used
to be. hip relacment has resulted in infection, so it had to be removed
again and i finished up with a shorter left leg . palliative care is
provided which dislike when it turns me into a zomby from time to time. i
wonder wether someone has had a similar battle and could advice regarding
further expectations, treatments or anything relevant.
i am not quiet sure about the procedures for a news group and would
appreciate some hints or shortcuts..

sincerly yours
                           Hans

Peace begins with me.

Hello Hans and welcome to alt.support.cancer.

Newsgroups are routinely scanned for e-mail addresses by spammers. This is done
by software (and humans) which examines posted articles and looks in header
fields such as "From" and "Reply to" for e-mail addresses to add to their
lists. This software may try to pick up anything that resembles an e-mail
address anywhere in the body of the article, including the signature line.

I've "modified" your email address in your post (see above),  please try to use
that for your future posts or when someone asks for your e-mail address.

In order to "fix" your email address, in the header of your post, you dummy up
your "from" header, in your newsreader...Outlook express, in the news section
(not mail).
There must be a setting in there to "hide" your Reply to email address (because
I see others are doing so).
In your 'From" email address, you could put something like ahdpfarr@invalid.inv

I'm sorry to go on about this, but you will appreciate, in the future, not
having to waste time deleting unwanted "spams" from your inbox.

It sometimes helps to put the type of cancer (or specific subject in the
subject line), which I've now done. Many readers don't read all the posts. They
look for subject lines which relate to their type of question or cancer.

You are certainly welcome to stay with us, we can be there for you on a day to
day basis.
We have Mike who is an expert in palliative care.
And Steph and Peter Moran who are doctors, plus many supportive posters.

There are private ACOR email lists ( under L )  http://www.acor.org/  There's
one for liver and another for lymphedema

When you reply to posts, it is appreciated, if you scroll down in your reply,
and type your reply at the bottom, then remove/delete as much of the text above
your reply, as possible, leaving the text and poster name that you are replying
to. I do NOT do that on the first post, in case others cannot see your full
post.

Please never post your full name, address nor phone number. Such information
can be used by readers who do not have good intentions.
