ome of the highlights of last week's teleconference include:
* Updates on hormonal treatments for women with advanced (metastatic)
breast cancer and in the extended adjuvant setting
* Findings from targeted therapy studies of Herceptin (trastuzumab)
and lapatinab
* Effects of Aromasin (exemestane) on bone density in women with early
stage breast cancer
* Aromasin versus tamoxifen as first-line treatment for advanced
(metastatic) disease
*Benefits of using a two-week schedule for chemotherapy (or dose-dense
approach) for early stage breast cancer
* Clinical trial results of Arimidex (anastrozole) and Femara
(letrozole) versus tamoxifen
* Comparing Taxol (every 3 weeks) versus Gemzar (gemcitabine) plus
Taxol, as frontline therapy for advanced (metastatic) breast cancer

One of our good friends (husband's former grad school roommate) is CEO of a
relatively new biotech company--now doing cancer research only--in Boston that
is working on a new drug.  Preliminary research looks promising although one
local research oncologist didn't think so--but wasn't impressed by what he said
either...

Kaye,
Since you are Her/2 +  you should listen to the audio there are exciting
things happening and there is a new tumor marker which is also promising

I can't at the moment--no audio on reg. computer but will check laptop and we
are getting a new computer this week...so if I can figure out how to use it
while the audio is still available...
