Does anyone know about radiation before mastectomy? Is it fairly common?

Does it have as good results as radiating after mastectomy?

How long after radiation would be delayed before surgery?

Radiation before surgery would be to deal with cancer that is existant in the
breast tissure.

Radiation is usally about a 5-6 week course of treatment.

Radiation after mastectomy treats whatever cancer might be left in the
surrounding tissure after all the breast tissue is removed.

The surgeon and radiation oncologist should be able to give you more detailed
information or try checking in Dr. Susan Love's "Breast Book."
