hi all
i posted here the other day telling all of you that i was due for the
blood work for the tumor markers ca 27-29.. in november they were up
to 230..
i had been on the arimidex since august but that was not working for
me so i was changed to Femara which pretty much agrees with me. last
week at the onc office he explained that if markers didnt go down
there were two options
1. continue femara and get faslodex
2. start xeloda which is 8 pills twice daily
well i am pleased to report that the markers are now down to 100..a
FAR cry from 39 but it appears the femara MIGHT be working.
not jumping for joy yet
have no appetite thanks to femara and i have lost a needed 20 pounds
now the oncologist wants to wait another month to "see"
wants me to have another pet and cat scan next month
thanks for listening guys
love linda

Hi Lydia, glad to hear that the Femara seems to be working a bit better than
the Arimidex. Have they determined yet what is going on?
Hope that all continues to improve. My best thoughts and prayers are with you.

Woweee! A huge decrease in your tumor marker AND weight loss. That
Femara must be good stuff. Congratulations.

If not jumping for joy yet, maybe a little . . . hmmm . . . wriggling
with happiness (?) . . . would not be out of order?
Seriously, Linda, this seems very good news. Here's hoping the markers'
downward trend continues!
