Hi,
I haven't posted for awhile but I have been lurking.
DX 8/02,  Lumpectomy 9/02, Chemo 10-12/02,  Rads 6 1/2 weeks 03.
I'm one year free. Now I seem to have lots of pain in my breast. I see a DR.
every 3 months they don't feel any thing and my last mammo didn't show
anything. Is this common?
Thanks in advance.

Actually this is quite common after rads. I was 3+ years out from all
treatments, and still have little episodes of shooting/stabbing pains. I
asked both my bc surgeon/specialist and my radiologist about this and
they both told me this was normal following rads and of course the
surgery as well. It has something to do with the nerves that were
disturbed during surgery, and then the treatment of rads afterwards.
I also had lumpectomy, rads followed by 6 months of chemo.
Unfortunately, for me I had a recur and had MRM and chemo again. I
completed treatment for this 6/6/03.
If you're still not comfortable after reading the responses to your
post, I'd check with my doctor for peace of mind. I hope this helps you.
Take care there/God bless
annie

Ultimately.....we know deeply that the other side of every fear is a
freedom.

"Courage"...is *fear* that has said it's prayers.
