Hi all

I'm now 15 months post mastectomy on the right side &
9 months after my prophylactic surgery.  Lately I've
been waking up with both hands swollen.  The right is the
worst.  I'm assuming that this is due to 10 lymph nodes being
removed from that side.  Could this be the start of lymphedema?
My Sed rate & a few other tests are elevated?

Any idea what might be going on?

It sounds like you have an infection going on.  You might want to talk to your
dr. about taking an antibiotic, if one hasn't already been prescribed.

Hi Kaye

My dr is pretty sure that its arthritis & not lymphedema.  Since
my sed rate is up, that indicates inflammation so I'm taking an
additional anti-inflammatory to see how it goes.

Jackie, do you have a fever?  If so you should contact your
doctor immediately. - Tony
