Hi again,
I'm back on Xeloda after about a 1 1/2 yr hiatus. I had forgotten how
painful the feet get. Does anyone know how to get relief besides going off
the drug? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Probably neuropathy. The oncological pharmacist at our
hospital recommended glutamine and vitamin b-6. - Tony

Hi! I was on Xeloda this time last year and had hand and feet problems.
What I figured out was:
- Vitamin b6 twice per day (I kept upping the dose, with permission, and
it helped,
- I bought slip on shoes in a larger size and wore them most of the
time. Tight shoes just made my feet so much worse.
- I put Dr. Scholls gel soles in the freezer and used them in my shoes
or slippers if I needed an extra break. Cold in general on my feet felt
great. Sometimes I put a cold pack on my feet in bed.
- I always used rubber gloves in the kitchen, in the house I used cotten
gloves and outside, leather gloves. On my feet, I always had socks over
the lotion, even in bed.
- I used a layer of aloe (it feels cool) then lotion on my hands and
feet whenever I could. I liked Bag Balm and Eucerin lotions, which you
can find at the drug store.
Someone else posted about Xeloda side effects recently and I don't know
if there were any other ideas. You might want to look through the
emails. They posted under the generic drug name. Good luck!
