Would the poster care to elucidate for the rest of the world how CST relates
to other time zones?  Is this UTC - 6?  Not everyone knows these timezone
names.  What is more, the message is actually posted from the UTC-8 (US
pacific time) zone.

Interestingly the website (as viewed by IE5.5) shows the next chat time in
CST and underneath displays the current time in my (or presumably anyone
else's) local time zone (which happens to be UTC-0).  This is not exactly
helpful except for residents of the CST zone.

Hello,

Actually the 2 clocks are intentionally on there so you can see your
time, and then compare it with the CST which is the top clock.  We
have aprx 400 plus chatters from almost every time zone. So this
system was devised to allow the users to compare thier time with the
CST  (Chat Time) The Top Clock Stays on CST, where the bottom clock
changes to reflect the individual users time.

CST= Central Standard Time

Actually this makes it very simple, when the top clock reaches 8pm CST
that is when the 8pm CST chat is scheduled for, so in reality there is
no reason to convert when the top clock says 8pm CST it is time for
the chat :).

Hope This Helps,

God Bless

That would be fine if the "top clock" were actually a clock and updated
continuously, and not just a fixed time value.  It not only stays on CST but
it stays on the time when the reader opened the page.

As it says "Scheduled Chat Time" and did not move, I at first assumed not
unreasonably that it showed the time of the next scheduled chat (not at that
time having the wherewithal to convert to local time, I didn't try, and by
coincidence on first examination the times were not unreasonable).

I asked how it relates to UT in hours, not what it stands for.  The analysis
above confirms my suspicion that it is UTC-6 (plus northern hemisphere
daylight savings I presume - we do have southern hemisphere readers here
too).
