To whom it may concern

I was wondering if you could give me some advice on Brest cancer /
secondary bone mats. My mum is under going treatment as we speak.

I am trying any possible way that I can, to make an appointment to see
a specialist but all the ways are blocked to me, I explain, as the way
that the system works, the GP after seeing the patient will write to a
specialist, otherwise no specialist will see the patient.

As my mum does not live in the country, and she is not in a good state
of health, it is far inconvenient for her to come all the way here to
make an appointment, and the fact that waiting couple of month in
order to see a specialist will putt her out of the whatever the
treatment she is under.

All I am trying to do is to make an appointment, but as the patient is
not present, apparently that is not possible.

I desperately need help.  Please…

Which country is your mother not in?  Or to put it another way, which
country are you in and want advice on?

It sounds rather like you are talking about UK NHS system.  If so the
following may be helpful, otherwise ignore it.

Have you tried talking to your own GP about your mother's problem.  I would
have thought that he could make a referral on the basis of a copy of her
clinical notes from a doctor in her home country.

If she is not from a country with which UK has a reciprocal arrangement for
free medical service, you can expect to have to pay privately for any
treatment.

Whatever you do she will have to spend some time in the country to get any
treatment.  For example if you are looking for radiotherapy treatments for
her this will mean first having diagnostic X-rays and/or scans in order to
determine target areas for the radiotherapy, only after these have been
assessed can she book a radiation machine session.  Under the NHS this will
typically be 6-8 weeks later, partly due to the high demand for time on
these machines.
