Very lengthy article on the Mediterrarean diet, specifically on the Isle of
Crete.  Apparently, they eat a lot of purslane - I've never seen this available
in any grocery in Texas at least.

From the article:

Studies in cell lines and animals appear to support the epidemiologic evidence
concerning the protective role of a ratio of (n-6) to (n-3) of < 2:1 against
the development of mammary cancer and to provide evidence that (n-3) fatty
acids could have the potential to be used as an adjuvant therapy to prevent
recurrence and metastases of mammary cancer (59 ).

It grows wild all over here in the midwest. It's considered a
weed.

Thanks for sharing.  I never heard of purslane before.  I did a google search
on purslane and "breast cancer" and found at least 11 pages on it.  One common
theme amongst some of the articles I checked out was what one literally
stated--that purslane along with Omega 3 fatty acides may help  prevent breast
cancer.  None of them--at least the ones I checked out--had any mention of
whether or not it/they would be helpful for someone who already has breast
cancer.  There may be some there, however, since I only looked at a few.
