Seems like mine was 4 weeks, but I don't remember any pressure to make it
sooner or later, but then its been 2 years and I can't remember
yesterday -((
My 'marking' as you state (we called it tattoo!) was just days before
beginning treatments, and treatments were EVERY day. Only day we missed was
if the radiation machine was down.
We played puzzles, chatted, ate cookies if we had to wait a few minutes,
which wasn't often, treatment took <10 minutes, the dressed again and left
for home. Totally painless, harmless except for time interruption, but at
that time I was unemployed, it made a nice diversion meeting friends
there...
The 'tattoo' is just a half-dozen or so pencil mark sized dots marking the
'corners' of the area where they have to line up the machine to get the best
coverage while missing the major organs. It takes quite a bit longer than
the treatments, so don't think they'll all take as long as the first one!
Again, painless, kind of interesting. Every once in awhile I see one of my
tattoo marks and think it's a tiny blackhead - how soon we forget!
Don't worry, radiation is definitely the least worrisome of what you've been
thru.

I think the delay between having chemo and radiotherapy is, so that your
body can get back to some sort of normality, ie: cell damage(I think I was
told that they had to make sure that my bloods came back ok. That my blood
count was back to a reasonable limit), before I could go ahead with my
Radiotherapy.
Hope i've helped a bit,
Take care,

I was advised at the ariamycian in my system from the last drip session
would take at least 4 weeks to work out my system then I would be scheduled
form radiation zaps

That regimen may be the safest, but I do know of someone who received chemo
and radiation during the same period--and one of her chemo's was adriamycin...

I specifically asked why I could not receive both procedures at the same
time & was advised the it was too dangerous to have the adraimycin in my
system while receiving radiation & they would not do it..
