My surgeon called me Tuesday to check in, and I told her how I was
dreading hearing about the path report--she told me that she expected
to tell me 1.4 cm and clean nodes, but no path was back yet. She also
explained that I'm still tired post-op because it was a big surgery,
and to cut myself a break.
Yesterday, we went to the beach--I had to get out of the house, it's
a few blocks away--and my husband said that he felt like she could
predict the pathology, because she did the operation.
And, as soon as we got home, she was on the phone to say "It's all
good news"--the tumor was 1.6 cm with surrounding DCIS and she got
clean margins and all 3 nodes are negative, so she wanted me to relax
and have a good night before I see her today for the post-op check.
 It's a huge relief.
There is more work to do, but at least I'm starting from a good
place.
I'm so glad I listed to my gut and made that gyn appointment.
Now, I just have to figure out what dress I feel comfortable wearing
to the wedding....We should all have such tough decisions.
Thanks for all the help and support.

Excellent!

If you're ever worried about anything you should seek advice - you know that
:-)

I can't choose outfits for our cruise until I know how small I'll be - my
current jeans are slipping off without undoing them :-( I'll never be thin
but if I can get to 11 stones (154lbs) by the end of July I'll be happy.
I'll only have another 7 lbs to lose before March 2010 :-)

Don't go away! We want to know about the wedding and your dress and I know
there was something else... oh yes, and what happens next in your bc saga
:-)

Sounds like all wonderful news, My tumor wa 3cm, triple neg. Bloom RIcharson
scale 3, initially about the worst news one could get. Nodes were neg.  But
I am still here...eleven years later.  Enjoy the wedding.  Don't be too hard
on yourself.
