Whatever has been happening has improved. YES! I just lay down for the first
time since getting up a few hours ago. About 20 to 30 seconds later, 'the' or
I should say 'a' feeling started. It was a much milder sensation than
previously. What I saw as I stared at the ceiling, instead of multiple turning
images--the ceiling seemed to start moving upwards in a jerky fashion rather
than smoothly 'turning' or 'spinning.' I also saw the usual spots (floaters?)
which I always see against a white background but don't notice otherwise. I
have a slight headache or feeling of strain on the top of my head toward the
back (left side) and left arm/shoulder are a bit weak and base of neck (top of
spine) feel strained or tired--don't really hurt. I am also feeling a touch
light-headed. What is even better, the vertigo wasn't there--in other words I
am not stumbling around like I am on a bad cruise (or what someone might
expect of a comedy impression of a drunk).

Well that's good. I'm starting to feel like your mother <g> and you're probably
older than I.
don't ask, please.

Gee, right after a weekend... (I just noticed)
Any chance that you're overdoing during the week and/or too much stress and not
enough rest/sleep during the week on any/many of the problems, including shoulder?
Esp if you use computers at work and at home at night..
Maybe diary the symptoms? - nah..that's work too.
Maybe type less..just mostly read the newsgroup during the week..unless you can cut
back on work hours?

Not really since I only work 3 days/week and the days off are not that
different from weekends. From the time it first began it slowly worsened, but
slowly seems to be improving at the moment. As far as not getting enough
sleep--GUILTY! I had been sleeping about 4 to 5 hours per night for months
until Sunday night when I actually slept between 7 or 8 and didn't even wake to
use the bathroom.
Last night my husband and I received a call from our youngest around 10:00--the
only one who stayed in CA for college. She was hysterical. A friend of hers
from high school passed away from her 3rd recurrence of Hodgkins. So sad...We
drove down to be with her and took her out for awhile. I slept during the ride
-- both ways. After we got home, when I got out of the car I had taken several
steps when I just about fell--the balance problem had returned for the next 5
to10 minutes. I had been sleeping in an upright position. This morning when I
got up, had a mild headache--still do--may be getting stronger--left (and maybe
right?) side--but have not yet had any balance problems. I am not one who
is or was prone to headaches.
