A friend told me that the Faith Middleton Show on WIPER on 12/10/07 had a
interview with an MD from Yale University describing research -- apparently
there is some indication that anti-depressants help to kill cancer cells.
The clinical trials are not yet for humans.
From her website I believe that within a few days the show can be heard via
MP player - wonder if it would work via computer.

made a mistake on radio call letters - should be public radio WNPR

I managed to download a part of the WNPR program. The MD is Dr. Julian Lieb,
former Yale professor pf psychiatry and researcher who now lives in Vermont.
He said there are 40 ongoing studies in the world 28 of which show good
results.
Prostaglandens (not sure of spelling) which control so much of cell activity
and cell replication are excessively high in cancer tissues and
anti-depressant medications seem to show an ability to decrease
prostaglandens.
He suggested people could find more online using PubMed.
I have tried to paraphrase from listening to the download to my player -
never as clear as hearing the radio first hand.
