I posted here over 3 months ago when our Daughter Dara was diagnosed
with bi-lateral stage 3 breast cancer. After 3 months of chemo,
yesterday, Dara had bi-lateral MODIFIED mastectomies & all went well.
Her doctors are very confident in her survivability. Repeated PET scans
had found no lymph gland involvement. We will move forward from here.
I want to thank you all for your input & encouragement @ a time when I
was "STUNNED. I want to especially thank Ann T. & Tim. GOD bless you
all..Ron

Thank you for letting us know, Ron.
Few of us forget what posters contribute even if we don't feel able to
respond at the time. Tim and Ann always give sound responses.
I hope you're feeling more settled now.

Thanks so much for the follow-up. I hope everything continues to go well.
I myself was diagnosed with Stage 3 in June 2004, and "STUNNED" is
absolutely the right word for it. Felt like a cow who'd been hit over the
head with a 2-by-4. Take it one day at a time.
All the best, Eva

Thanks for the update, Ron -- great to hear that everything's going so well.
No positive nodes is good news. Speaking from experience, the mastectomies
are relatively easy surgeries, and she's been through the toughest parts of
treatment now (my opinion). Please feel free to visit us here if you have
questions or just need to "talk".
Best to you & family!

That's good news Ron. I had not read your previous post but I too had bi
lateral breast cancer Stage 2 no lymph involvement! This all happened
17.2.06. My mastectomies were trouble free with not too much discomfort
only with the drains in for the week. I also had 3 months of chemo and had
my last treatment 24.8.06. So I celebrated my chemo free year last week.
Yes, I have moved forward and hopefully have seen the end of this disease.
I had follow up checks every 3 months for the first year and now have a
chest ultrasound every 6 months - next due in December. I now take Arimidex
for the next 5 years as my tumours were estrogen and progesterone positive.
Keep in touch and all the best to your daughter and families.
