I finally pestered Shands till today the Coordinator for the surgeon
that will remove my breast called this morning to set up an appt on
Sept 12th. We will discuss the procedure and other info. Then he will
get together with the plastic surgeon and get a date set for my surgery.
I absolutely HAVE TO quit smoking before the surgery and thru the
recovery so I started on the stop smoking Meds on Monday. I have to
keep smoking for a week and then increase the meds and stop smoking on
Sunday and hope to never touch a cigarette again. Much prayers are
needed to do this.
Thank you for all of you and your support.

Please do try to stop smoking as soon as possible. You'll feel much better
and your pocket will benefit enormously!
As one of my bosses used to say to me, "Just think of how much good wine we
could buy if we didn't burn money!"
I'll be thinking of you, keep in touch.

Yes, smoking effects post operative recovery. Glad to hear you have a
plan, Alex

You *can* do this. Find some new & distracting things to do at times when
you'd usually smoke. Give yourself a little (healthful) reward for each
day or week you get through without smoking (bubblebath? massage? phone call
to your most-fun friend?)
Sending best wishes,
