I'm not sure if this is even the correct place to post this, and if
it's not, please forgive me.
After I had my son in August, I found a lump on my breast. I was told
(without examination) that it was a plugged duct & to massage it, etc.
It was still there in September, causing me no pain. My OBGYN referred
me to the Presbyterian Breast Center. I had an ultrasound & the doctor
examined me & confirmed that from the ultrasound, the shape, size, my
age (I'm 26) and mobility that it was a fibroadenoma and to come back
in 6 months for a followup ultrasound.
For some reason, I am STILL concerned about this thing. I've read that
they usually do a fine needle aspiration - and that was not done for
me. Do I have reason to be concerned, or did they do everything they
could to diagnose it?

Breast cancer in women your age is extremely rare, but not impossible.
However breast lumps are very common, especially after pregnancy. 6
months follow-up does not sound unreasonable in the absence of any other
symptoms and if the ultrasound indicates fibroadenoma.
You can always ask for a second opinion, but on the whole as long as it
does not increase steadily in size over time, does not become attached
to or pull at the skin or nipple, does not bleed or produce discoloured
discharge, etc. then there is unlikely to be anything to worry about
from this point of view. Should further changes occur which give you
concern, then the first thing would be to report this back to your
ob/gyn or the breast centre.
