Yes, I know it's early. It came up, while I was searching for something
else, so decided to post before I forget it.

Winnipeg, Canada – The World Conference on Breast Cancer Foundation is
pleased to announce
that the 5th World Conference on Breast Cancer will take place June 4-8,
2008, at the Winnipeg
Convention Centre, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Over 600 delegates and
presenters are
expected to attend from countries including India, Egypt, Philippines,
Norway, Australia and
New Zealand, China, Spain, Ireland, France, England, Nigeria, Venezuela,
Canada and the
United States.

Following on the heels of the success of the 4th World Conference on
Breast Cancer – which took
place in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in June 2005 – the 5th World
Conference will share
information on all aspects of breast cancer: research, diagnosis,
treatment, support, prevention,
outreach and education; build and strengthen international networks
concerned with breast
cancer; move forward and advance global and local action related to breast
cancer. Within the
context of the event program, and respecting its audience, the conference
strives to provide an
opportunity for those affected by the disease to express their fears,
frustrations, hopes and
dreams, and tell their stories. The World Conference on Breast Cancer is
held every three years.
The Conference attracts survivors, survivor groups, family members,
friends, service providers,
community organizations, volunteers, public educators, advocates,
researchers, scientists and
health care professionals.

“The World Conference is crucial to international action on breast cancer
because it builds
knowledge, capacity and empowerment among women affected by the disease
and the networks
of family, friends and health professionals that surround them,” said
Valerie Hepburn, President
of the World Conference on Breast Cancer Foundation. “Each World
Conference is a unique
opportunity for strengthening international networks that thrive long past
the event and get
renewed every three years.”

Scotiabank is the Official Bank and Premiere Sponsor of the World
Conference on Breast
Cancer. “Scotiabank is once again delighted to be the Premiere Sponsor of
the World
Conference on Breast Cancer. We support this conference because it is
important to our
employees and our customers, in Canada and around the world,” said Sylvia
Chrominska,
Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Public, Corporate &
Government Affairs,
Scotiabank.

I don't think I'll remember unless it comes up in the news, and/or others
post about it.
(both are possible)
I posted it in case some wanted to inquire about accommodation, in case rooms
should be booked early.

"I wish" what? That I'll remind you ? or that you could go?

No thank you! But money isn't the problem anyway. There are other
constraints on life ... :-(

Been there (once).  It's flat.  I'm a hill person.

I know - both those things. So am I.

I wanted to go to Winnipeg when a dear friend lived there. She died :-(
Visiting somewhere when you have the company of someone who lives there and
knows it so that you can see it through their eyes is different from any
other experience.

I think.
