Hello All! I just want to let you know that my wife (42Y.O., diagnosed
stage IIb, 3 months A/C then 3 months of Taxotere), is doing well. Seems
that she had virtually every possible side effect... systemic edema, pleural
fluid, pericardial fluid, clogged tear ducts, deteriorating finger nails, in
addition to all the common things like anemia. But everything seems to be
slowly recovering aside from the tear ducts. As she says; 'I'm done with
the chemo, but the chemo's not quite done with me.' Chemo thrust her into
menopause and she's taking a pill to keep her there (I can't recall the name
right now), and she's taking effexor to control the hot flashes. Overall,
life seems to be getting a bit back to normal.
May God bless each of you for being a part of this community. I haven't
posted much, but I read posting almost every day. It's been a tremendous
source of comfort and strength for me. I'll continue to lurk, and post when
I think/hope I can contribute.
Best Wishes,
Scott

Hi Scott,
Glad to hear that your wife is getting on the road to recovery from all her
chemo. I speak from a bad experience with A/C chemo. I had *VERY* bad
nausea, which couldn't be controlled no matter what the docs tried.
So I know what a relief it is, to get back to a "normal" chemo free life
again.
Here's wishing her all the best for the future.
Take care,
Shaz x

That is great to hear Scott. You all will still be in my prayers. I just
want you to know that she needs to keep in touch with her doctor if the hot
flashes do not get better while she is on the HRT. My moms were getting
worse and if it wasn't for my mother-in-law convincing her that she needed
to call the doctor to get the script changed she still would, well lets say,
driving all of us crazy....lol.
