Has any of you taken this injection. My 41 yr old daughter had breast
removed, and it has gone into her bones. She had her first shot of
Zoladex yesterday, and is scared to death, Asked me to post, and see how
long the hot flashes last, and if they get worst with each injection?
She will start radiation, then chemo. She seems more scared about the
hot flashes? Would welcome emails.

Dear Louanne
I just had my last Zoladex injection 5 weeks ago. I was on it for two years
because my tumour was oestrogen positive. I was 40 when I was diagnosed.
I too suffered from hot flashes (or flushes as we in the UK call them) and
after an initially bad three months they seemed to settle somewhat. They
never got worse than that, but I had "bad" periods (usually about a week
every six weeks) and better periods. This was the pattern througout my two
years. Hot flushes and their most evil twin sister, the night sweat, are
horrible, but one does adjust to a certain extent.

Thank you for replying, but I do not think I will tell her what you
said. She is scared to death of the hot flashes. I don't know how she
will take to Chemo, so far, they are start Radiation on her hip. If that
does not work, then the chemo. I feel she should have been on chemo long
ago. She lives in SA, Tx, and I am in Pa. She has no relatives in Tx.
I am not well enough to go down, but her sister, will.

With email and telephone you can be their for her. The hot flashes are
miserable but better then the alternative. Perhaps in a few months she can
visit you!
