Hi,
I agree with you that change in taste - although you would think it
would be not so bad as side effects go - can be one of the worst at
least it was with me and taxotere! And after taxotere - I had to go on
Maxzide for swelling and it compounded the taste problem. Its' been 8
weeks now since I had either Pepsi or coffee - my two loves next to my
husband and son! They taste SO awful now it would be like a punishment
for me to have to drink either of them! Hopefully it won't be for much
longer...

Hi Tamara,
It's tough!
Hope you get your taste back soon.
I'll probably be on Faslodex for years. Then I plan to get my taste buds
back, quickly!
I never tried chocolate-covered strawberries or Godiva chocolates.
Wonder what I've missed? :)

If it's any consolation to you....I once purchased a box of Godiva
chocolates and gave them to my daughter as a birthday gift. When she opened
the box, to our horror, there were small worms in the chocolate. Brought it
back to the store, got a refund, could never look at Godiva chocolate again.

Here's a recipe for chocolate covered strawberries that you might try when
you do get your taste back:
Chocolate covered strawberries
2 pints strawberries, stems intact
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate
1 teaspoon canola oil
Preparation Cook: 30 minutes
1. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment or waxed paper. Wipe the strawberries
clean and dry them well with paper towels.
2. Melt the chocolate with the oil over a double boiler. Stir until the
mixture is smooth and the chocolate is completely melted. Remove from heat.
3. Hold a strawberry by it's green top and dip it 3/4 of the way into the
melted chocolate. Lift it out of the chocolate, let the excess chocolate run
off and set the berry on one of the lined baking sheets. Repeat this for all
of the strawberries.
4. To harden the chocolate, chill the strawberries for about an hour before
serving . You can store them in the refrigerator for up to 8 hours.

Be careful what you wish for! I've put on 10 extra pounds since finishing
chemo because food tastes so gosh darned wonderful to me now.
