Has anyone read-up on this?

Thanks.

PS  I'll try to read about it, once the weather here gets cooler. It's
about 105 F every day. Whew!

Hi alex,

Still hot as heck here.

============================

"Snake Venom as Cancer Treatment"

---------------------

Copperhead Snake

keywords: copperhead cancer integrins

Contortrostatin [CN]

anti-angiogenic protein therapy, antiangiogenic

-----------------------------

Cottonmouth, Water Moccasin Snake

keywords: ? [Can't remember which ones I used to get info. Sorry.]

Some research being done in Texas. Cottonmouth venom as cancer
treatment.

-------------------------------

Pit Vipers in East Texas:

Copperhead, Cottonmouth, Rattlesnake.

------------------------------

PS  I went to the library today for a few minutes, & looked at two snake
books, to get a bit more info & insight.

-------------

There's also a hognose snake here ("hissing adder"?, plays dead) that
might be a pit-viper, but maybe not as poisonous as the other three. ???

--------------

I think that Komen Foundation & also Johns Hopkins(?) might be
interested in Copperhead treatments for cancer.

---------------

Too hot!

Death Adder in Australia

On TV just now, CBS 19 in Tyler, Exploration with Richard Wiese, ....
they spoke of a cancer cure that someone was trying to develop, using
Australian death adder venom.

They didn't give the details though, or mention the name of research
facility.

I couldn't find anything about it (death adder venom cancer treatment),
on a Google search.

The scientific name for death adder is Acanthophis Antarcticus. And
there was some mention (on Google searches), of Acanthoxin A1, a PLA2
enzyme. ???
