Since this is my first time here, not sure if I am posting in correct
place.  Advice would be appreciated.
This will be very succinct cuz I just got on computer and I don't have
the time I need to ask questions, tell what happened to me and find out
where to post if this is not right forum.
I had silicone implants inserted in 1971, yeah right after they hit the
news!  My dear mother knew that once I found out about them, I would
jump on the OR table so fast it would make your head spin!  Not sure
how she found out before me and I was even in nursing school at the
time.  Back then you could put "Tiny Titties" as the pre-op diagnosis
which is very appropriate, but a lot has changed since the '70's.
BTP I was in wreck in 1998 and I had the attending head of Plastic
Surgery Dept come look at me because when I stood up for the first time
on a tilt table, I felt something really weird on my Left side.  He
told me and also charted!!!!! that my implants were fine and intact.
Oh geez I think I should have waited to post, but this is first time I
have posted on my story and started looking at the recent research
because I didn't want to know anything and I just put it off.
But after the wreck my implants went south due the the muscle structure
not being able to hold the weight of the implants and I don't exercise
and I am 59 so I think most of you know what was going on.  I elected
to change to saline and go smaller.
I hate to do this, but I will be back either later tonight or tomorrow
to finish and hopefully someone will tell me if I should post here or
somewhere else.
I had no idea that both implants were ruptured in the wreck, guess dr
thought that just wasn't important and I had no idea that the silicone
had been spilling out of both implants for almost 5 years and only when
I got copies of the pathology reports did I find out anything like -
granulomas, silicone attached to skin on left side and the list goes
on.
I need to know what to do because I do not have a lot of overt
symptoms, but I am also a chronic painer (from all the bones that were
broken and I shouldn't have lived thru it but....)and I have lab work
that sure ain't normal and since all drs. think it is "all in my head"
I have given up trying to find someone who will actually listen to me.
I am probably sick as hell and my days are numbered but I want to find
out how to find out where the silicone has gone during those 4 years.
I am truly glad to have found this site.  I have read a couple to posts
and the one that listed what was in silicone is what got me here.
Thank you for all help and advice you can give.
Joanne                        I really don't know what Usenet really
means but I am going to post any way.
