Hello,
my wife, Chrissie would be very grateful for some advise, help.  After a
lumpectomy and subsequent radiotherapy, she has been suffering from
lymphoedema in her right arm.  She wears a compression sleeve and today
she received a gloves with fingers cut away.  I seems that once you
reach this stage in your life you have  put up with whatever they decide
to give you,  which in her case, is a  ghastly pale brown or 'flesh'
colour. Our local PCT is so strapped for cash.  Anyway does anyone know
from where we may purchase compression sleeves and gloves privately
possibly with a choice of colours.

Many thanks

Have you tried a surgical supply store?  That would be your best bet.   I had
a lumpectomy on the right side, but luckily didn't get the lymphoedema.  My
right arm is still numb though from my armpit down to my elbow and it will be
3 years in April since my surgery.  So, tell Chrissie to hang in there and
this too shall pass.

Good Luck,
Roseann

Thanks Roseann
people are bring so kind and supportive.  Chrissie had axilliary
clearance of her lymph nodes, but apparently it was the radiotherapy
that caused the Lymphoedema.  She too was numb from her armpit to her
elbow. She still has hardly any feeling there, but it has gradually got
a little better over time. But, yes it is still numb.
Chrissie was given some special tape called Kinesio-Tex - she laid it
across the scar tissue in small strips and it helped to reduce the scar.
I am sure you will find it if you Google Kinesio
