Don't know if anyone remembers me or not. I have lurked ever since last year
when I had a little scare.. my ob/gyn found a "little lump" in my right
breast and sent me for an ultrasound and possible biopsy. I managed to dodge
that bullet and was thankful.
Didn't want to go back for that darned yearly in October but did anyway and
went and had that mammogram again. Dr. called last Friday and said they see
something suspicious in the other breast this time, so I'm scheduled for an
ultrasound and "possible" biopsy in the left breast Tuesday Nov. 8th. I
totally freaked last year and am trying to be better now, but have this
overwhelming feeling that so many others are diagnosed every day, why should
I be any different. Is this the way it's going to be every year?? I've kind
of kept it out of my mind until last night and had a complete meltdown.
You all were great last year with positive thoughts and prayers from those
who believe in that. Thanks for listening, it helps.

Relax, Rhonda - breathe ;-)
This stuff is scary but the vast majority of breast masses are still
benign.
I recommend curling up with a good book and plenty of comfort food ;-)
You'll be fine.

Rhonda,
We all worry when we have a lump, it's only natural. But keep in mind that
most lumps are not cancer. My mother has, over the years, had about 20 lumps
and all have been benign.

Hi, Rhonda,
What an unpleasant emotional roller coaster ride! I sure can understand
about tests, and anxiety over possible results. Here's hoping that as
long as you have to be going through this stress, it plays out exactly
as it did last time, i.e., nothing worrisome in the long run. That's
certainly the likely outcome. Let us know how it comes, OK?
Sending positive wishes/thoughts,
Ann T.

Hi Rhonda,
I'm sorry you are having to do this yet again. I'll certainly keep you in
thought and prayer as you wait for your Nov. 8 appointment. Hoping that
you'll soon be writing that is another "dodged bullet".

Thanks for everyone's good wishes. I appreciate them. Looks like I dodged
another bullet. Dr said the spots he was looking at "seem" to be cysts and
nothing more, so come back in a year. I wonder if it's going to be this way
every year.. maybe in a few years I will quit freaking out, ya think?
Again, I appreciate the cool heads when mine isn't so cool.

So glad to hear that! Think of it positively. This will ensure that you
do visit the doctor regularly and keep a check on your health always.
Thats always a good thing.
Cheers..

Hi Rhonda,
So very glad to hear you've had good news! It's been twenty two years for
me and I still get anxious when there is any reason for
testing.....Perspective is somewhat better than it was way back then, but
this disease deeply affects a person and I've become resigned to being
nervous at test times. I'm just glad that there are many days and weeks and
months when I'm not living and breathing cancer, in between the times I need
diagnostics done. Hope you can do some celebrating!

Thank you so much Barb for your kind words. It helps tremendously to just
hear them when you feel anxious and alone. I will keep hoping all of your
test times turn out good. Thanks again, if I can return the kind thoughts
when you're feeling down, I would be more than happy to.
