Got my tests results back today. No cancer, still not 100% sure WHAT the
lump is but it's not cancer. The material was "too fibrous"(sp?) to get any
cells but the doc is quite sure no cancer is present and it's most likely
the papiloma the surgeon said.. I'm going back to the surgeon on the 25th
and hopefully he will book me in to have it out!
Anyway a big thank youto everyone in this NG. All your answers to my
questions were definately a help. Especially Tim!
To those who are going thru the testing good luck. And for those who've been
diagnosed you will find loads of support here.

Melissa---
Could be a fibroadenoma--which is what I had--and yes it was removed. I
mentioned that as long as he was going in anyway to remove the entire
lump........result: no cancer.

Agree, papillomas are not normally fibrous, they're soft.
Fibroadenomas are harmless, this is unnecessary surgery caused either by
inexperienced radiologists who produce equivocal reports or lawyer-
harrassed radiologists who would rather err on the side of
overtreatment.

So glad to read of your biopsy result! Hope you have an easy time with the
removal of the lump and a very quick recovery. Then do some celebrating!!
