I went back to the docs this morning for the results of the ultra sound. She
couldnt shed much more light on my lump but is concerned. It's quite dense &
diffuse as the guy had said and appears a bit spidery.

She has reffered me to a surgeon on Friday at the Hospital who will discuss
when i can have the whole lump taken out.

In the mean time I am booked in for a mammogram on Monday afternoon but that
may end up being cancelled. I'm also booked in for a fine needle biopsy on
Friday of next week BUT they are trying to bring it forward to this friday,
if they do bring it forward my mammo will be cancelled as it will be a moot
point!

in the mean time I feel like I want to sit in a corner and cry but it's not
going to get me anyway so I will just keep on moving.

Dear Mel,
I'm sorry you still don't know much about the lump, and I fully realize how
very difficult it is to wait for tests and results.
Wish that a cyber hug could take away the anxiety.  Sounds like your Dr. is
doing all the right things.  A nurse said to me, during the waiting for
diagnosis, that even if it is cancer I mustn't consider it the end of the
world.  I really had to hang on to that thought as the diagnosis, surgery
and treatment followed.  Cancer is never a word we want to hear about
ourselves or loved ones, but treating it (as early as possible) gives hope
for life after the diagnosis.  I'm hoping that you will still be given good
news.  If you're not, please know that you will do what it takes to be
healthy.  Please keep coming back here.  There is lots of good advice here
and we care.

Hi Barb,
I so like seeing that sig at the bottom of your message.

I'm much brighter this morning, I think yesterday making all those
appointments just jumped up and bit me.

Melissa, most natural thing in the world to feel like you've been "bitten".
I'm glad you are feeling brighter, and hope that you can hang onto hope.
You are in my thoughts.

Why on earth do you need to wait for a mammo? Too few radiologists in
Oz?  It should be done BEFORE they start biopsing, phone around to find
a practice or hospital that can squeeze you in (pardon the pun).

I hope this bit has to do with dieting and not to do with your present
problem..   Get a chest x-ray while you're waiting, or do you have to
wait for that too?  I'll be holding thumbs that its not what it sounds
like.

Sure does have to do with weightloss. I intend on returning to WW once all
this is over too.

Hi, Mel,

I'm so sorry to hear that the anxiety is continuing.  It sound like
you're taking all the right steps, and that things are proceeding pretty
speedily.

"Keep on moving" seems like a good short-term strategy, and you might
even consider doing some "nice to yourself" things as a distraction & to
feel better, such as getting together with friends, doing a fun
activity, indulging yourself in a massage or bubblebath or some other
thing you like.

We'll still be hoping, and so I'm sure are you, that this will prove to
be a benign condition that simply looks suspicious.

Thanks for the update.

Thinking of you,

Ann T.
