Hi

I wonder if anyone out their is having any problems like I am having on
tamoxifen, I have the usual side effects of flushes which they tell u
about, but I am bothered with thrush like symptons every month just
before or after my period they told me that the medication can cause
vaginal dryness but not the above. I am 90% sure it is the tamoxifen
that's causing this has anyone out their had these kind of problems.
Also has anyone thought about alternatives to tamoxifen if so what?

Yvonne-
Your thrush (or oral candida albicans) has been demonstrated to occur in
13% of patients administered tamoxifen. That's the science part of it
Many of us (me too) get yeast/fungi infections of the vagina or mouth
during/after our periods. Its an immunosuppression thing.
For me, zinc losenges worked for oral thrush. (Not a prescription, just a
suggestion).
There are antifungal rinses, but they are by prescription (in the US).
Talk with your druggist. There could be something Over The Counter that
would work for you.
