Hi all,
I'm new to the group and was just reading an article on
health.dailynewscentral.com that I thought I'd share with you about a
new drug calles fermara that is suppsed to be best at reducing the
chances of breast cancer recurrence after surgery.  I hadn't heard
about it and was wondering what people knew about it.  Apparently,
Novartis is trying to get it approved in the United States and Europe.
Read the article and tell me what you think.

I'm not sure where you live, but femara is not new. It is an aromatase
inhibitor hormonal therapy for post-menopausal women who are ER
positive. I'm in the U.S. and taking femara and there are women who have
been on this drug for several years. It works the same as Arimidex which
has also been used for several years for ER+ post-menopausal women. It
is used after completion of chemo/radiation for original treatment or by
stage IV survivors to help reduce tumors or hold progression at bay. It
doesn't work forever, but many have good luck with it.
