Had my 6 mo. mammogram and checkup 2 weeks ago (from DCIS surgery and
MammoSite).  They then did an ultrasound on other side but said it was
benign cyst.  Then today I get a call to go back for another mammogram -
more calcifications on that side.  so I suppose it will be the whole nine
yards again, biopsy/calcification removal/another MammoSite.  This with
trouble having with rheumatoid arthritis right now I sure feel like the born
loser.....Excuse the pity party, just had to complain to someone.

You've certainly got plenty to complain about!

The RA is enough ...

I know just how you feel!  Last year they put me on the same
"merry-go-to-Hell-round".  One thing led to another and on and on.  I
finally decided to rant to my surgeon and tell him he and the
radiologists had to get their act together because I was not going to
endure this every time they saw a suspicious "shadow".  They just have
to find some way to know the difference between calcifications of
fibrocystic breast disease and cancer.

I am due for my annual Mammo soon and I just dread what they are going
to do to me "for my own good".   So it's ok to complain to us but please
do complain to your doctor and anyone else involved with this. Maybe if
we all scream loud enough someone will try to find a better way than
what we have available now.

Best of luck to you and all of us,

Bea

Jeepers creepers!  Whatta pain!

And if you can't come here to grouse about it, where the heck can you go?

Here's hoping it only turns out to be 6 inches (e.g., just another
mammo) and *not* the whole nine yards!

Take care, and keep us posted,

Ann T.
