Hi Bea,
Whenever you have a question (about something you hear about, or see on
TV, or read on newsgroups), ..... then "search engines" can be very
helpful.
There's Google http://www.google.com
And Google Groups (for newsgroups like alt.support.cancer.breast)
http://groups.google.com
When I search for my own posts, I enter susan, su-texas &
then whatever subject I'm looking for.
My situation is complicated, & probably only interesting to someone who
is in abuse, ...... or is interested in human rights & civil rights
issues, rights of the disabled, ..... or practical-type psych subjects,
developing better life-skills & such, ..... or finding medical testing &
diagnosis. Most people wouldn't find it interesting.
-------------
For the most part, it's important for you to focus on you, your
situation, your community, ..... to stay as positive, healthy & happy as
possible, ..... in order to best deal with the cancer, & to enjoy your
time.
And to use the internet to connect & "rub shoulders" socially, whether
in this newsgroup or a dozen others.
Because of my situation, I cannot commit to being here for others, .....
to socializing, playing & joking each day.
I have to focus mostly on survival issues, for now.
For this, I apologize.
You seem like a kind & caring person, fun & funny. My best wishes are
with you.

Hi Su
Thanks for the advice about the Search Engines. I hope you don't garner
from my posts that I spend all my time socializing and playing on the
internet. We all have survival issues in one way or the other.
However, I find it helps to take a break during the day and just enjoy
posting for the fun of it. Everything can't be about a survival issue
or we would all be sharing the floor in a well-padded room in my
opinion. We have to take time to relax and just be silly once in a
while.
I do hope soon your life will allow more time for you to relax and just
enjoy "socializing" as you put it in whatever way befits your style of
life.

I do to and used it a lot in the past. However, when I tried it a while
back, it was no longer available to Webtv. I think I will give it a try
today and see if maybe it was a glitch and we can still use it. I
really missed it.
Thanks for reminding me about Jeeves, Mary.

Bea,
You're on a Webtv? I've got one [subscriber since 8/97], but hardly use
it since my hubby {Gene} got me a pc.
I do check mail there about once a week.
I didn't know that "Ask Jeeves" was a problem for Webtv users. I'll try
it with the Webtv and see what happens. If I get on, I'll let you know,
and maybe you could give it another shot.
Take care there dear/God bless

Anne, I was having a problem with it a while back but the other day
tried it and it came through just great. It seems to have upgraded it's
webpage and looks quite different now. However, it still gives great
responses so I am delighted it's working again for me and Webtv.
