Hi Everyone
I have been reading this groups messages for the last 2 years .It has
been a great support knowing others have similiar situations.I was
diagnosed "Australian Breast Cancer Day" October 2001.
I was 44 yrs old, married with 4 children, ranging 20 - 7 yrs.
I had noticed a dimple in my right breast, went to GP,he said not to
worry but have a mammogram for peace of mind! I made app. ,had mamm
and ultrasound and was told then and there I had breast cancer-3
tumours- and they would let my GP know. I was eventually diagnosed
with invasive ductal and invasive lobular cancer.(Has anyone else had
this?) One tumour 4.3cm, one 3.8cm and one 1cm in the
RBreast.Oestrogen negative,Progesterin positive. Grade 2. I had a
mastectomy and lymph nodes removed (negatve). Then 4 AC chemo
treatments. I am now having Zoladex implants every 28 days.
At the time I received great support, especialy from my husband of 25
yrs. But the stress of this and many other things has been too much
and my husband moved out 6 weeks ago.

Best Wishes to all.
Sue

Hi Kathleen,
When I first saw the surgeon he performed a fine needle biopsy in 2
places.I had had a mammogram & ultrasound done that day, which they
were sure(99% without biopsy) showed cancer in 3 places .But they came
back benign. Then had core biopsy in 3 places - 2 came back benign , 1
suspicious. Surgeon was still sure it was malignant ,so ordered 'hook
wire biopsies'.had this in 3 places then tumours were removed under
general anaesthetic. they all came back malignant. grade 2. IDC & ILC.
2 x 2.5cm, 1 x 1cm. I then had total mastectomy which had another
1.8cm + 1.3 cm. Total= 2.5 + 1.8 = 4.3cm, 2.5 + 1.3 = 3.8cm. 1cm. ER -
PR+
It then came as a great surprise to find all nodes negative! although
increased mitotic activity. At a latter app, they noticed that the
pathology report from the 1st biopsy showed a slight ER+. The doc said
he would treat me as hormone dependent because of PR+.( zoladex
impants - 6 more to go. 24 in total)My oncologist said I was a
complicated case!

So far,i'm doing really well.Apart from weight gain, hot flushes
etc.Husband!

It was good to get your reply
Best Wishes to ALL
