Fun check-up

Yesterday I had to go for my annual check-up at a regional hospital 2
hours away.  That's the hospital where I had my radiation treatments
almost 3  years ago.

For some reason a year ago I let them give me a 9 AM appointment so I
had to leave before 7AM.  There was no traffic, the sun was shining
for only the second time in a month, so everything was beautifully
green.  Most of the highway went through a forested area, and  I saw a
leggy young moose, some hawks, a young spotted eagle.

Good programming on the CBC, with my favourite sing-along-to Kris
Kristofferson tape (bought in 1972 -sigh) for breaks.

I had to wait in my little johnny shirt for 30 minutes so I was deep
into Sinclair Lewis's "Dodsworth" when the  new doctor came in.  He
grabbed the book and starting listing all the SL he had read,
including Arrowsmith, which got him interested in medicine.

So I got a ten minute discussion on one of my favourite books, an A+
on my two-minute check-up, a compliment on being big-boned (he said
that's a good thing if you are taking Arimidex) and a lovely drive.

I was so happy all day that  I drove home and mowed the lawn with my
little push mower, when I could have let it go another day.  <g>

Good news and happiness is wonderful . . . wish more would share it.  I
guess good news sometimes seems like a non-event.

Which Kris Kristofferson tape from 1972?  Border Lord, maybe? I'm not a
big listener any more, but have fond memories of listening to some of
his songs from that time period.

Thanks for sharing,

Ann T.

I have Border Lord, but the one I sing to is Jesus was a Capricorn.
That's the one with the "love and lost" songs like, Nobody Wins, I'm
Not Enough for You, and Give It Time to be Tender.

I have at most a two note range, and those two notes are flat, but I
can sort of sing a quiet little descant to Kris.  So I adore him.
