my mom had a masectomy 3 years ago and now has a "stable node" what does
that mean??

It would help to know the context of the term "stable node."  I would guess
that there is an enlarged node, either palpable or visible on x-ray, that
has not changed.  The lack of change would suggest that it is not cancerous,
for cancer would grow over time.  That is just a guess.
