hi,
I have been bothered for a while about the site of my surgery, there has
been a hard lump under the skin and my GP was concerned enough to tell me to
mention it to the hospital when I went for my chemo..which I did and the Dr.
rang straight away, while I waited and got me an appt. for an ultrasound,
I went today, all churned up , with my OH......   the result is absolutely
nothing to worry about...perfectly normal scar tissue as far as they can
tell... No need for any further investigation.... The relief... they said to
expect to feel like this about everything for quite a while and that it's
understandable...very nice, didn't feel I was wasting their time.
              Till next time !!!!!!

Scar lumps forming on any surgical wound is common - I have one on a
finger from a tendon repair.  Of course with cancer surgery it is best
to check it out, but the vast majority of hard lumps that form quickly
on the site will prove to be harmless scar tissue.

Yes, all things logical told me this... but since when has logic
come into it as far as cancer is concerned?   I felt a bit of a fuss-pot
mentioning it at the hospital but was so worried that I had to.....kept
getting that feeling in the pit of my stomach.....Any-way   mind more at
rest now...can get on with the treatment,  and hopefully get back to
something like a 'normal' life...If it can ever be 'normal' again.....

It must.

No, you were quite right to do so. Logic would determine that you need to
eliminate things which needed further examination.

But logic must also deterine that you shouldn't worry until there's
something to worry about.

Good.

Oh yes it can! I reckon my life is at least as 'normal' as it ever has been
:-)

It has the enrichment of experience and getting to know the people in this
ng.
