Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with it. Yes, I'm
wondering if that's my problem. But I don't find much on it to really
be able to tell how that differs from what's normal after chemo and
radiation.
I know folks have talked about swelling, redness, etc. lasting up to
even a year post-treatment. But I'm not sure that necessarily rules
out lympedema.
Take care,

Nor am I.
I know that when my breast feels swollen and aching massge helps to relieve
it. that's going on for seven years after surgery (all nodes removed) and
radiation.

And massage is actually one of the treatments for lympedema. (The
other for breast lymphedema seems to be a special bra - the Balisse
Bra).
I've gone ahead and ordered 2 books on the subject.

Melody,
I have been hanging out reading the news group. I used the expertise
and information of the group as I was going through chemo and radiation
with great success. I too have developed breast lymphodema, I too have
not been able to find much information about it. Even my doc's don't
seem to know much about it. I do get some relief by using ice and by
wearing a tight bra. I guess if compression sleeves work for lymphodema
of the arm a "compression" bra might just work for the breast. As I
said I do get some relief using these two techniques. I hope this
helps a little.
God Bless

Here in UK I've not heard of using ice - all that means is that I've not
heard of it, not that it isn't used.
Later this week I'll be going to the lympho clinic, I'll ask about breast
lympho there.
