Hi everyone,
A ct scan on the brain last week showed two "lesions" for my mom. Well,
she had headaches on and off for a couple of days; but hasnt been
having any for the past few days. She is going to receive radiation for
it pretty soon.
Am I looking at a survival rate of a few months only then? Arent brain
mets supposed to be real bad?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Mets in general are bad, and brain mets perhaps a little worse than at least
some other sites, but survival could be anywhere from a few weeks to several
years; people respond differently.  If, for example, her tumor is HER2/NEU
positive, then herceptin might prove to be a miracle drug.

My wife had six lesions in Oct of 2001 and currently shows no advances in
disease progression after WBR and Sterotatic Radiosurgery.
