Can someone please tell me how long it took them to get their breast
lumpectomy results back?

I am scheduled for a lumpectomy on 12/30, and am told my results will
not be back until 1/7.

This seems like a very long time, but then again it is the holiday season.

It doesn't seem unreasonable to me - once I worked out that you were using
the American date system!

Don't worry about it, there's no rush. My results took at least as long as
that.

My lumpectomy was Thursday 09DEC04. My appointment to see surgeon was
Monday 13DEC04. The surgical nurse told me that she was going to start
"bugging" them Thursday afternoon to get the results to her in time for the
appointment. Even considering that 31DEC is probably a holiday and maybe
they don't even get back to work until Monday 03JAN05 that seems
unreasonably long. And BTW 07JAN05 is a Sunday. ??? Seems like a long time
to me too.

Mastectomy in my case, but same deal with pathology. It took about a
week for the definitive pathology report.

Corinne...
It's really hard to wait...believe me, all of us in here know that all
too well.
But considering there's a holiday weekend in there, it doesn't really
surprise me.
With New Years Eve falling on a Friday and then Monday already being the
3rd, it doesn't seem like it would get done any faster due to the
hoilday stuck in there.
And depending on who might have taken a "longer" weekend then others,
then you have to contend with also. Sometimes it's like that here when
there is NO holiday to deal with...
I hope results are good when they come back...Good Luck...
