My wife has been on Aromasin for a year and a half after being
on Tamoxifen for about three years.
From what I can tell from reading available descriptions and
reports, Aromasin may very well be superior to Tamoxifen as a
first line of treatment. And, while Tamoxifen provides no
additional benefit after five years of use, Aromasin is believed
to provide continuing benefit.
FWIW, the hot flushes she experienced while on Tamoxifen were
virtually incapacitating. That is not the case now that she's on
Aromasin (although they are still a problem).
All this having been said, she would prefer being on nothing.
I'm glad she's chosed to stay on the lesser of the two evils.
