thanks everyone for the kind words towards my father.

he's taking it all fairly well, although i can see the signs that he's
freaking out a bit.

still waiting for the next scan apointment and he should have the rest of
his stomach removed within the next few weeks.  Hopeing that's as bad as it
gets.

anyway, if any of you have any experience with stomach cancer any info on
the operation and what to expect will be much appreciated.

You might try a post to alt.support.cancer, there should be people there
able to help with that.
