hi all-
i have been posting and reading here for some time - i have a question this
time.
i'm doing hormonal treatment for late stage 4 bc for 1 year now.  my blood
work today indicated monocytosis.  my onc did not seem overly concerned
about it, and neither am i.
i tried looking up info on the subject and found only vague references.
does anybody know abou this or have experience with it?  is this something i
should be concerned about?
any info is helpful.
thanks and i hope you all are well.

biotopograma - 20 Oct 2004 21:48 GMT
Dear Christine: Monocytosis is common in evolutive neoplastic diseases,
high monocytes count in your venous blood is just a reflection of what may
be going on locally, which means nearby the breast area. For breast cancer
in especific, the places to perform local blood differential counts
(hemograms) and withe cell total counts are: nearby the primary tumor, the
axilar and subclavian region and in any other place where bone pain may
have arisen. This technic is called BIOTOPOGRAMA and is widely explained
in the book "Hematologia Topografica" published by Editorial Porrua Mexico
2004.
