Hi

My mum has just been taken off her medication and told to start getting
Faslodex injections instead.

Does anyone know or have any experience of these injections as we have heard
many conflicting stories with regard to side affects etc

Any info would be much appreciated

Thanks
Chris

Chris,
I did monthly faslodex injections for over a year with no side effects.
It's just a pain to go in every month.  Have your mother ask her doctor for
some emla cream to numb the area before the shots--the needle is VERY long
and the medicine is really thick--I hear that it hurts A LOT if the area is
not numbed.  Good luck.

Can I ask why you stopped the having the injection and did it work when you
were on it?

Yes, it worked for a while keeping my tumor marker under control, but once
it started going up, I switched to Xeloda, which I am on now.
