Have her ask her doctor about Premarin - by Wyeth Canada (vaginal cream)
(might be prescription only)
She can also buy/use (over the counter - drugstore or Walmart, if you have
one) KY and/or Astroglide (Personal lubricants)

You might want to research a little before you attempt using "Premarin"
Package insert states it should NOT be used by anyone that's had breast
or uterine cancer. I was er/pr negative both times {1999/2002} According
to what I've read it doesn't make any difference what your er/pr status
was, it should not be used by people with a history of the two mentioned
cancers.
I was given a Rx for it last year, and then read the package insert, did
some research online, and opted out of using it for the obvious reasons.
This is a personal choice, and obviously up to you..I just would be very
careful to read and make sure this is the right choice based on your
situation. I'm not trying to scare you, I'm merely posting this to
inform you there are risks in using this... I hope this helps.
Take care/God bless

Ultimately.....we know deeply that the other side of every fear is a
freedom.

"Courage"...is *fear* that has said it's prayers.

There have been discussions of the topic on:  http://forum.bcans.net/.  Look
for "Search" and go back two or three years.

I was diagnosed with BC and had been using premarin before diagnosis.  My doc
did prescribe it for me, knowing full well about the warning.  She said the
amount absorbed is very small and that quality of life IS important.

Also, I use it only once or twice a week, when the over the counter remedies
are not doing the job.

Some package inserts are designed primarily to protect the manufacturer, not
because the drug is so dangerous under specific circumstances.

Just think how many clothes labels say 'dry clean' or 'hand wash' when those
precautions are really protecting the manufacturer from returns, not protecting
the garment.

This is not to say go ahead and use Premarin, but it's ok to question those
inserts.

My apologies. Annie is correct.
I didn't have the prescribing info here about Premarin.
However I found it online.
http://www.premarin.com/preinfo.html
PREMARIN, PREMPRO, and PREMARIN Vaginal Cream should not be used if a woman
has unusual vaginal bleeding, has or had cancer of the breast or uterus, had a
stroke or heart attack in the past year, has or had blood clots, has liver
problems, is allergic to any of the ingredients in PREMARIN, PREMPRO, or
PREMARIN Vaginal Cream, or thinks she may be pregnant.[end quote]

No doubt her doctor (or her pharmacy) would have told her that before
prescribing it.
But again, my apologies.

Estring has been recommended by oncologists since it doesn't get
absorbed in the body. GLIDE lubricants which can be purchased with out
prescription is available,J, is well meaning but doesn't have breast
cancer and is not a medical professional so her information comes from
the internet. There is nothing like first hand experience.

Best of Luck, Alex

In this case, Alex, I am happy to tell you my information comes from my
experience.
As usual, you seek out my posts to only criticize.
Perhaps I should do the same to you.
I am sick and tired of your passive/aggressive criticisms !
I had already corrected my post, so there was absolutely no need for your
mean-spirited post.

And is that the ring? or the cream?

For the OP, it's called Estradiol.

Replens.  Over the counter.  There are other OTC vaginal
moisturizers available including KY Jelly and AstroGlide.
Experiment and see what works best. - Tony
