Hi all:

My wife is on AC+T (T is paclitaxol). She is half way through the whole six
month treatment. There are all together eight cycles. AC is for the first
four cycles. Coming Friday, she will be on T. I heard the side effects from
T will be even stronger than AC. Naucea is the biggest thing for her AC
treatment. What would she expect from T? Does anybody have any advice?

I heard one of the major side effects is pain, but is it very painful?

She feels fatigue on AC, but it's bearable. Will people feel more fatigue on
T?

Regards,

Jack

Hi Jack, Taxol has different effects on different people.  I find it
interesting that you were told that pain was a major side effect.  I was given
similar info. to what I had been given before I started AC.  In actuality I was
given less info.  Before AC I was also shown a video and the oncological
pharmacist came to talk with me and prescribed 3 other anti-nausea meds, none
of which I needed before going home after first AC treatment.  I wasn't told
anything about Taxol and had only received a half page blurp about it
indicating that I might later feel some aches and pains but had been told the
same with AC.
I had a hypersensitive reaction, supposedly to the Taxol, which I was told most
don't experience.  I did find it quite uncomfortable (like having sudden
toothaches in different parts of my body either singley or in different places
at the same time--like a severe toothache in anyone of the involved areas.
Although I did find it uncomfortable I was able to go back to work while on it.
It did become managemable, even with the discomfort.  HOpe your wife has a
relatively easy time.  Take care and {{{Hugs}}}

Everyone is different, but I found Taxol to be much easier than AC.

Thank you for your replies. Your experience means more than what doctors
said. You have actually gone through this. I know everyone is different.
When my wife was going through AC, the doctor didn't expect the degree of
nausea she sufferred.

Thanks!
