Hi everyone,
hope all is well, (or as well as can be expected) I am now one week after my
first chemo. I have felt better but have to admit I could be feeling a lot
worse. No real nausea just queasiness, but boy have I had days where I was
tired!. Now my mouth feels all furry. Hope it is not going to get sore. No
hair loss yet. but my skin is awful. I have not lost my appetite but I am
craving carbs. (not very good as I am a type 2 diabetic, which I keep under
control with just diet and exercise)
My onc got me a consultation with the radiation oncologist which I thought
would be a waste of time because I had radiation the first time around and
thought I could not have it again., but he was very good. he said he is
going to have the margins reviewed and if they are less than 1cm? (not sure
what he said there exactly) he will consider re-radiating as the benefits in
my case would outweigh the side possible effects. He is also having an MRI
of my superclavical nodes (lymph nodes were removed in 2000)done to see if
there is anything there (before my next chemo, so that if there is, he knows
before the chemo shrinks it too much) and if so he will radiate them as they
were not radiated last time.
So all in all things seem to be progressing OK for now.
keep well everyone,
Liz

Liz glad to hear that you are doing okay. Thanks for the update. I find it
quite interesting that some consider re-irradiating while others are told that
it is not done...just wish there was more treatment consistency as well as
better understanding for all oncologists.
Take care and hope all continues to go well. {{{Hugs}}}
