I was diagnosed with asthma late in my adult life.  I am 37 years old.  I
never have any wheezing or coughing but my chest is always tight and my lung
capacity is down.  I have had severe allergies (pollen dust etc) all of my
life.

I am trying to find something to help me fight this other than the usual
meds.  This book keeps popping up in my  net searches.  Does anyone know if
this is a scam or is there some value to it?  Here is the link:

It's probably b.s.  It's impossible to cure asthma in a week.  Researchers are finding, however, that some asthma - if caused by bacteria - can be cured.  That's particularly true in cases where your asthma began as an adult.

Check out www.asthmastory.com and if you have any questions, write me at the email address shown here.  It's not my site, but I was forum moderator there after my doctor treated me with weekly antibiotics for 12 weeks.  (It has to be the right antibiotic, however, so you need to know more if you're going to speak to your doctor about this.)

Thanks for the information.  Unfortuantly I am uncertain if I have this type of asthma.  I dont wheeze or have attacks, just persistant tightness in my chest and real bad allergies.  Wish I could find something to make this go away.

Some of the people who had bacteria didn't have full blown attacks or wheezing either.  It wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor for a blood test to see if you've got higher titers for mycoplasma or chlamydia pneumoniae.  Then again, it could be something else.  Stress or something.   Were you really sick in the months preceeding this breathing problem?

Not really.  I just developed this tightness.  I could tell my lung capacity was diminishing.  That was confirmed by the doctor.  Have you heard of the ISS vaccine?  Any idea when that will be out?

Honestly, I'd see a pulmonologist at this point.

Well, if you feel your lung capacity is diminishing, it's best to go to a specialist who can administer the proper tests and determine what this really is and what you need to do to manage it.  I'm a little surprised your internist didn't recommend that to you, but that's what I would do if it was me.  Don't you want some answers at this point?  I would.

Real bad allergies? Did you ever think that a hidden food allergy may
be contributing to your problem? An allergist would be the best person
to see about this. At least 70% of asthmatics have some type of food
allergy. Doctors have written books on this.

Since the post did not include any evidence reputable then assume it
is a HOAX,
