It's been a couple of years since I first found Jim's asthma story
stuff. I was tested for M. pn and Ch pn.and have since taken quite a
few treatments of azithromycin and rulide.

Micoplasma pn. and chlamydia pn. are difficult to kick. Esp.in
Autralia where azithromycin is practically unavailable unless you have
an STD or a sympathetic Dr. I had to print off reams of Dr Hahns stuff
to get the meds I needed.

I still take a preventor every morning and night (purple puffer -
Seretide) but do not have a chronic productive cough nor constant
chest infections anymore. I never use ventolin and do not need to. My
preventor probably actually does something now, but when I had M. pn
and Ch.pn it didn't help, nor did ventolin.

This winter, in Australia, has been my BEST ever since 2000 when I had
the 'flu and normal type pn., then developed M.pn and Ch. pn. 4 years
with these infections truly does SUCK.

I still have *never* had an adult asthma attack, but coughing up that
crud and not being able to breathe was gross and debilitating.

Please, if you have "adult onset asthma" which started after a pn.or
chest infection, get tested. My 6 year old (nearly 7) actually caught
M.pn (from me, I suspect) and he has a heart defect. I insisted he was
tested for M.pn, he had it and was treated promptly with Rulide and
now, after 10 months, has stopped coughing.

These bugs are NASTY.

Stephanie, it sounds like your condition really improved!  That's
great news.  Think about writing Jim to let him know.  I believe
his email address can still be found at www.asthmastory.com.  He
loves hearing from people like you!

By the way, Joy and I also recovered (me after 33 years) from
asthma.  And some others here are taking antibiotics ala Dr. Hahn
and already seeing improvement.  I guess you were one of the
pioneers!

Thanks for posting your story and hope you have continued good
health.
