Hi there,

I am wondering whether anyone can help me out.  I have been taking seretide
inhaler for a few years now and about a year ago switched to symbicort as I
was having so many problems with my throat.

I am totally fed up with these throat problems which include dryness,
soreness, hoarseness and constant clearing of the throat.  My doctor does
not seem able to help...

Also I find my face always getting very flushed and red, which I find very
embarrasing.  It makes me look like a drunk!!

Can anyone advise if these are side effects of the treatment and what I can
do?  The medicines seem to work otherwise for me..

Many thanks,

Charlie

Hello, I switched to Symbicort briefly during the summer. It worked well
in controlling my symptons (had an attack within 12 hours after I landed
in my trip, but usually I'm mild-to-moderate asthmatic in generally good
conditions). I did have a little throat problem but I thought it's quite
common with all inhalational asthma medications. Also, the leaflet
inside the medication package didn't mention side effects like you
described. Sorry, not much help. --Min

I assume you know about rining AND gargling twice after using any
steroid spray.  Mild salt water is better.---Jack

I know about rinsing but didn't know about gargling until this past
summer.  :( That's why I've got throat problems all along. Now they're
all gone.

thanks for the mild salt water though. --Min
