Hi
Has anyone had experience of pet mice aggravating their asthma?
We used to have a long-haired cat, and it didn't bother me at all. He died
and a few months later the kids convinced me that mice were a good thing to
have. We bought three of them a couple of weeks ago. Initially I suffered
no increased symptoms, but now my asthma in the last few days has been worse
than for a while. It's not the pollen season, and I can only think it's
either the mice or the change in weather that's causing these latest
symptoms. I do find I'm quite sensitive to changes in the weather,
particularly just prior to rainfall or storms, but the weather at the moment
is fine and clear.
Any advice gratefully received.

Usually if you add something new to your enviornment and then started
having symptoms you might want to think that is the culprit. I think mice
and possibly their droppings can aggravate asthma. I once had a sever
reaction to our military housing unit being srayed for cockroaches. (The
whole base was infested). You would think the spray or the roaches
themselves would cause the problem...it ended up being the dead roaches
that affected my asthma! Sometimes the barometric pressure can trigger an
attack too though we can't even tell the weather is changing. I would run
an experiment...let the mice stay somewhere else for a week and see if
your symptoms improve. Trudy.
