Hi I thought this article might be of some interest. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3795349.stm It seems to suggest an immune system that's evolved to deal with invaders that no longer exist. IMHO it seems also to support the 'hygeine' theory for asthma i.e. an immune system that's far too powerful and understretched for the condition it now finds itself in.
